The Falls Church Anglican Music

Tim Challies recently recommended "A Thousand Amens: Live Worship with The Falls Church Anglican" at his blog. Here's what he had to say about it:

"This may well be the only Anglican modern worship album on the market. It’s a good one. The Falls Church Anglican is one of those faithful congregations that refused to compromise the gospel and was forced out of its building. This album was recorded before they had to vacate their property. They sing a variety of songs, including several Sovereign Grace tunes, some hymns, and a few originals. I have especially enjoyed their cover of “Behold Our God” along with “Praise My Soul the King of Heaven” (and the amazing transition between the two)."

Nancy Lanpher:

My sister, a member of the church, gave me this CD, and I have played it over and over and over. What a blessing it has been. The technical aspects are masterfully done – instrumentation, balance, arrangements, transitions – all which allow the listener to get caught up in the spirit of the music, and worship with you. I must admit, being a musician, my thoughts are occasionally interrupted by a little musical thing I hadn’t noticed before, and part of my brain just lights up with excitement. The blend of old and new is truly inspired. We often tragically throw out one or the other, and as this recording shows, all instruments can be used to praise the Lord, and most gloriously when they are in the hands of such master craftsmen. Simon, the organ adds such transcendence and is used with such artistry, I can only praise God that it was included. I just sent a copy to my daughter who is deeply struggling with some things, and pray that God will use it in her life as He has in mine. A thousand Amens!

Jan Taylor:

My daughter who is a member of the church sent me this CD this week. I knew it would be good, having been there to worship with you on several occasions. I thank you for the way it all points to the truth of God’s grace, goodness, faithfulness, power, love, and to Jesus as Savior! The message is even more powerful, knowing what your church as been through and continues to walk through in the grace and power of our great God. I have ordered several as gifts and I pray that those who receive them will worship as I have each time I listen!

Recently I gave 1000 Amens to a friend of our family in Williamsburg. He responded twice in emails saying how much he likes it. Some of his comments: “how much I love the CD. Would tell you my favorite song but it keeps changing … to the last one I heard!” “And thank you SO much for the precious gift of instant worship (in the form of a CD). It is playing as I write this, and will be played lots in the time ahead!”

I, too, thank you for this long lasting precious gift. It makes the travel miles full of worship while singing at the top of my lungs. Glory to God!
